“ Thanksgiving Day”
It´s a national holiday since 1879 the second Monday in October to celebrate the gathering of crops. Its origin comes from a European tradition imported by early American colonists, in their origin countries celebrated festivals of thanksgiving for good harvests. The first thanksgiving Day in North America happened in Canada, when the English explorer Martin Frobisher arrived in Newfoundland in 1578 and gave thanks for having arrived safely. Forty-three years after something similar happened on the southern border, when the colonists found the new state of Massachusetts, creating the same festival in United States, but with the peculiarity that in Canada it is held a month earlier due to early collection harvests due to climatic conditions. The principal plate is the turkey.
